Title: Development Coordinator
Reports to: Vice President of Development and Alumni
Location: Kansas City, MO or Virtual

As the Development Coordinator, you will play a key role in helping
to cultivate and manage relationships with our partners, ensuring tasks are
completed efficiently and thoroughly. You will also track contributions and
ensure that partner engagement remains seamless and well-organized, driving the
success of our development goals.

Essential Functions
- Assist in building and maintaining relationships with
our partners (donors), providing key administrative and project support to
foster engagement.
- Coordinate and track donor communications using a
customer relations management system (e.g., Salesforce and SharePoint).
- Collaborate with the Development team to ensure
partners remain involved in our programs and initiatives and perform
necessary action items related to partner engagement in the programs.
- Research and identify new potential donors, including
individuals, foundations, and corporations aligned with AFA's mission.
- Contribute to developing and executing proposals and
communication plans to engage new partners and ensure accurate tracking is
reflected in Salesforce and SharePoint.
- Assist in tracking and reporting development metrics,
including outreach activities and progress, ensuring alignment with annual
fundraising goals.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for
fundraising events and campaigns, ensuring smooth execution from planning
through completion.
- Assist in coordinating year-end impact reports and
updates for partners and donors.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date data regarding
donations, financial contributions, and partner engagement.
- Complete yearly updates to application information
for grant funders and partners.

Required Education and
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in non-profit, business,
communications or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in development, fundraising,
or customer relationship management.
- Experience with data management software (e.g. Salesforce
or similar).
Preferred Education and
Experience
- Familiarity with non-profit organizations or youth
programs, particularly in agriculture.
- Experience organizing or supporting fundraising
events.
Work Environment
You
will operate primarily in a professional office environment. If remote, you
will work primarily from home office.
Position Type/Expected Hours of
Work
This is a full-time role,
requiring standard business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). You
will be expected to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of
this job, and subject to request for reasonable accommodation, the employee is
required to constantly operate a computer, and other office equipment as
needed. The employee in this position must also be able to remain in a stationary
position most of the day and to exchange information with internal and external
constituents regularly. Occasionally, the employee may be required to move or
position equipment weighing 5-10 pounds. Because travel is frequent and this
role represents the organization at other conferences, ability to transport
personal belongings and organizational promotional materials for travel, with
reasonable accommodation, is necessary.
Travel
Some out-of-area and overnight
travel is expected throughout the year.
