Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA)

Position Overview

 As a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) at Attain Behavioral Health, you will play a vital role in helping individuals overcome substance abuse challenges and achieve lasting recovery. You will work closely with our team of professionals to provide support and assistance to clients, fostering a safe and nurturing environment for their rehabilitation.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 Essential Job Functions include those listed below. Other duties may be assigned as needed.


  1. Client Support: Provide compassionate support to clients by actively participating in their treatment plans, including group therapy sessions and individual counseling.
  2. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
  3. Education: Offer educational resources and information to clients and their families to enhance their understanding of addiction and the recovery process.
  4. Collaboration: Work closely with licensed counselors, therapists, and other team members to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
  5. Crisis Intervention: Assist in managing crisis situations and providing emotional support to clients in distress.
  6. Advocacy: Advocate for clients' needs and rights within the legal and healthcare systems.
  7. Ethical Standards: Adhere to the highest ethical and professional standards in accordance with state regulations and Attain Behavioral Health's policies.
  8. Group Facilitation: Lead and facilitate group therapy sessions and support groups for clients as part of their treatment plan. Create a safe and supportive environment for group members to share their experiences, provide peer support, and develop coping strategies. Ensure that group sessions align with treatment goals and objectives.
  9. Client Counseling: Provide one-on-one counseling and support to clients as part of their treatment plan. Address their specific needs, challenges, and progress in their journey to recovery. Collaborate with clients to set achievable goals and monitor their progress, ensuring that they receive the necessary guidance and support.

 

Qualifications

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.
  2. Valid Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) certification in Ohio.
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  4. Empathy, patience, and a strong commitment to helping individuals on their path to recovery.
  5. Knowledge of substance abuse treatment and counseling techniques.
  6. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
  7. Peer Recovery Supporter. (PRS)
