JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Position Title:    Business Development

FLSA:                Exempt, Part-Time/Full-Time

Reports to:       Executive Director

Supervises:       N/A     

 

POSITION SUMMARY

 

This position is responsible for representing Attain Behavioral Health to the public, as well as hosting the public when visiting our facility. This person projects our Core Principals, Mission, Vision, Philosophy, Message, and the quality of the Attain Behavioral Health community ethos to all people at all times.  As the Professional Events Planner, this position is responsible for coordinating all events specific to professionals, such as professional workshops, and professional networking for the facility.  As the Community Outreach Specialist, this position initiates and nurtures relationships with prospective referral sources. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

A Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent experience as demonstrated by higher than average communication skills and the ability to manage a complex and culturally diverse work environment. A minimum three (3) years experience in the addiction and/or mental health treatment field. Candidates should have a good understanding of the local market and referral base. Candidates must be organized and demonstrate the ability to multi-task and have well-developed relational skills treating all people with dignity and respect.

 

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

 

Marketing

  1. Participate with the Business Development team in the design of the Attain Behavioral Health Marketing System.
  2. Participate in the design of specific programs and campaigns that empower the Attain Behavioral Health relationship with diverse segments of the market.
  3. Identify, qualify and maintain relationships with “network accelerators” in the market – that is people who celebrate and promote the Attain Behavioral Health mission.
  4. Responsible for the accurate daily documenting of all activities, contacts, appointments, and events in the designated Customer Relationship Management system.
  5. Document all activity as a basis for organizational learning and improvement.
  6. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of Attain Behavioral Health programming and clinical practice.
  7. Provide direct and open feedback to the Director of Admissions & Business Development and other members of the Attain Behavioral Health team.
  8. Support the Attain Behavioral Health National Marketing Team through participation on regular conference calls and cheerfully accepting opportunities to support the team with special assignments.
  9. Maintain collaborative working relationship with Admissions Department.
  10. Interact with a diverse patient population.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions & Business Development.

 

Professional Events

1.     Manage assigned projects in the area of professional event planning for a variety of conferences and workshops.

2.     Ensure all logistical details, including room set-up, audio-visual, transportation, housing and food/beverages, for meetings are planned effectively.

3.     Develop relationships with association members and workshop leaders.

4.     Prepare materials for workshops/conferences (notebooks, gift bags, registrations lists, etc.).

5.     Develop and implement community workshops and seminars, held within the facility or community.

6.     Represent the facility at Chamber of Commerce, civic and professional functions as approved by the Executive Director.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Accept responsibility for professional growth and development of self.
  2. Adhere to facility, departmental, corporate, personnel and standard policies and procedures.
  3. Attend all mandatory facility in-services and staff development activities as scheduled.
  4. Adhere to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance and punctuality.
  5. Support facility wide performance improvement goals and objectives.

6.     Maintain confidentiality of facility employees and patients.

7.     Receive direction, guidance, training and support from the Director of Business Development. 

8.     Identify strengths and weaknesses and implement measures to improve performance.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

  1. Local travel for community outreach, public relations and marketing activities. 
  2. Direct and indirect patient contact as deemed appropriate. 
  3. Work in office environment and be able to tolerate gradient levels of standing, walking, stooping and lifting up to 30 pounds.
  4. Tolerate stressful situations and various conditions unpleasant to the sense of sight, touch, and smell.
  5. Ability to adjust to increased workload.

 

ATTENDANCE/PUNCTUALITY EXPECTATIONS

 

  1. Reliable in punctuality and attendance, adhering to facility and departmental policies. 
  2. Demonstrates appropriate use of benefit time without such things as:
  1. Recurring absences in conjunction with days off.
  2. Frequent occurrences of single days off.
Complies with company and departmental policies with respect to attendance, which includes providing required documentation and notification of at least two hours prior to starting time or as established by departmental policies. Adheres to time allotted for breaks and meals, and returns to work at designated times.

5.     Does not experience absences that adversely affect the ability of the department to satisfactorily perform essential job functions.
