Senior Designer

About the Role:

Location: Remote / Hybrid / Brooklyn, NY / Chicago, IL

As a Senior Product Designer at Fingercheck, you will be a strategic leader within the design team, responsible for shaping the user experience of our end-to-end product suite. You aren't just pushing pixels; you are a researcher, a storyteller, and a systems thinker. You will partner closely with Product Management and Engineering to solve complex problems, advocate for the user, and drive design excellence at scale.

You will be a force multiplier for our team, driving forward with a hands-on leadership approach and a clear sense of purpose. Mastery of end-to-end quality is essential, establishing smart rituals and proactively managing dependencies for seamless, trustworthy delivery. A contagious optimism reframes complex product puzzles as exciting challenges, energizing cross-functional partners to keep experimenting toward the vision. This role serves as the unwavering voice of the user, embedding compassion and empathy into team rituals while skillfully balancing that with deep respect for business and technical constraints. Deep expertise is translated into actionable strategy, amplifying collective knowledge and connecting product features to meaningful business success.

What you’ll do Day-to-Day

  • Transform convoluted payroll, tax, and HR workflows into intuitive, "human-centered" experiences for business owners and hourly workers.

  • Lead a data-informed design process by conducting mixed-methods research (Qualitative and Quantitative), translating complex data into actionable product roadmaps, and communicating design rationale to inspire stakeholders.

  • Contribute to, evolve, and advocate for the Fingercheck Design System, ensuring high-fidelity UI and interaction patterns are consistent, semantic, and meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility guidelines.

  • Drive iterative innovation through rapid prototyping, moderated and unmoderated usability testing, and leading cross-functional ideation and alignment workshops.

  • Partner with Product Management to integrate analytics and measure the success of design interventions against critical business metrics.

What you’ll bring to Fingercheck

  • Experience & Leadership: 5+ years in Product Design, with a proven track record in B2B SaaS or Fintech and a strong portfolio demonstrating the ability to simplify complex, data-heavy applications. This includes experience in a "Leading Others" capacity, such as mentoring junior designers and acting as a bridge between Product and Engineering.

  • Technical & Research Mastery: Expertise in mixed-methods research, advanced UX principles (including OOUX, Heuristic Evaluations, and Customer Journeys), and deep experience in component-based design, visual hierarchy, and responsive design specifications. You must have the ability to create low and high-fidelity interactive wireframes and prototypes, lead the Design QA process, and demonstrate the ability to integrate and leverage Generative AI tools into your personal workflow.

We encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every single requirement. We value diverse skills and experience and are excited to see what you can bring to our team.

This role will report to the Director of User Experience.

Salary range : $120,000 - $130,000 DOE
