Position Summary: The Inventory Allocation Analyst plays a vital role in optimizing inventory flow and ensuring the right products are in the right locations at the right time. This role supports allocation and replenishment strategies across our warehouses by analyzing sales and inventory data, identifying trends, and recommending actionable solutions. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Reports to: Director of Purchasing
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute Allocation Strategies:
Implement and adjust inventory allocation plans in alignment with business goals and assortment strategies. Collaborate with the planning, buying, and merchandising teams to achieve optimal inventory levels across all warehouses.
• Evaluate Assortment Needs & Replenishment:
Partner with cross-functional teams to assess warehouse-level assortment needs and coordinate timely and accurate replenishment to support sales and in-stock goals.
• Data Collection & Analysis:
Collect, interpret, and leverage inventory and sell thru performance data to support allocation decisions. Analyze sales trends, seasonal shifts, and SKU productivity to enhance future strategies.
• Ad-Hoc Analysis & Insights:
Perform ad-hoc analyses to identify emerging sales trends, inventory imbalances, and growth opportunities. Share actionable insights to guide planning, merchandising, and replenishment decisions.
• Warehouse Reporting & Metrics Development:
Develop and maintain warehouse-level reporting tools and dashboards. Ensure the collection of accurate, relevant metrics to support decision-making and operational efficiency.
• Product Performance Monitoring:
Track the performance of key products across locations. Flag items that are significantly over- or under-performing versus plan and propose allocation adjustments to maximize sell-through and minimize markdown risk.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with Merchandising, Planning, Supply Chain, and Warehouse Operations to align inventory strategies with overall business priorities and customer demand.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Merchandising, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in inventory allocation, merchandise planning, or a related analytical role.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a data-driven mindset.
• Proficiency in Excel and other reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar).
• Experience with inventory management systems (e.g., JDA, Oracle RMS, SAP, etc.) is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced retail environment.
