We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Salesforce Administrator / Salesforce Platform Lead to take ownership of our Salesforce environment and help drive the next stage of platform growth, automation, reporting, and cross-departmental efficiency.
Role Overview
The Senior Salesforce Administrator will serve as the primary owner of our Salesforce platform. This role requires someone who can operate at both a strategic and hands-on level: understanding business needs, designing scalable Salesforce solutions, managing complex configurations and integrations, improving processes, supporting users, and ensuring that Salesforce continues to align with company-wide operational goals.
This is a senior role suited for a Salesforce professional who can independently lead projects, work directly with leadership and department heads, and bring structure, best practices, and technical expertise to a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
Salesforce Ownership, Configuration, and Optimization
Own the day-to-day administration, optimization, and long-term development of the Salesforce platform.
Design, build, and maintain advanced Salesforce configurations, including custom objects, fields, page layouts, record types, validation rules, permission sets, roles, profiles, and security settings.
Build and maintain advanced automation using Salesforce Flows, approval processes, assignment rules, and other declarative tools.
Evaluate, install, configure, and manage AppExchange products that support business needs and improve workflows.
Identify opportunities to simplify, improve, and scale existing Salesforce processes.
Custom Development and Technical Solutions
Work with Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, and other Salesforce development tools when declarative solutions are not sufficient.
Partner with internal or external developers as needed to scope, review, test, and implement custom Salesforce solutions.
Ensure customizations are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with Salesforce best practices.
System Integrations and Data Management
Lead Salesforce integrations with internal systems, third-party applications, and external platforms using tools such as MuleSoft, Informatica, APIs, or other integration solutions.
Manage data migration, data imports, data cleanup, and ongoing data quality initiatives.
Establish and maintain data governance practices, including data modeling, accuracy standards, deduplication, and documentation.
Ensure reliable data flow between Salesforce and connected business systems.
Reporting, Dashboards, and Analytics
Design and maintain advanced Salesforce reports and dashboards for leadership, operations, and departmental teams.
Translate business questions into meaningful reporting tools that support decision-making and performance tracking.
Support integration with analytics and business intelligence platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
Project Leadership and Process Improvement
Lead Salesforce-related projects from requirements gathering through implementation, testing, user training, and rollout.
Work closely with leadership, operations, finance, client-facing teams, and other departments to understand business needs and design practical solutions.
Create structure around Salesforce requests, prioritization, documentation, testing, and change management.
Proactively recommend process improvements and platform enhancements.
User Support, Training, and Documentation
Provide advanced Salesforce support and troubleshooting for users across departments.
Develop clear documentation for processes, configurations, system changes, and user workflows.
Train users and managers on Salesforce tools, reporting, and best practices.
Serve as an internal Salesforce subject matter expert and trusted resource for the company.
Governance, Security, and Compliance
Maintain Salesforce governance standards, including access controls, permissions, system documentation, release management, and audit readiness.
Conduct regular system audits and ensure Salesforce is being used properly and efficiently.
Support compliance with relevant data privacy, security, and regulatory standards, especially in a healthcare-related business environment.
Qualifications
Required Experience
Minimum of 5+ years of Salesforce administration experience, preferably in a senior administrator, platform owner, or Salesforce lead role.
Proven experience managing complex Salesforce environments with multiple user groups, departments, workflows, and integrations.
Strong experience with advanced Salesforce configuration, automation, reporting, data management, and user permissions.
Experience leading Salesforce projects from planning through implementation.
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively with senior leadership.
Technical Skills
Advanced knowledge of Salesforce administration and configuration.
Strong experience with Salesforce Flows, validation rules, approval processes, reporting, dashboards, roles, profiles, permission sets, and data models.
Experience with Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, or the ability to work closely with developers on custom Salesforce solutions.
Experience with Salesforce integrations, APIs, data migration tools, and third-party applications.
Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms is a plus.
Certifications
Salesforce Certified Administrator required.
Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator strongly preferred.
Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder strongly preferred.
Additional certifications such as Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant, Platform Developer, or Technical Architect are a plus.
Preferred Background
Experience in healthcare, revenue cycle management, billing, finance, operations, or another data-heavy business environment.
Experience with Agile or structured project management methodologies.
Familiarity with compliance, privacy, and data security standards relevant to healthcare or business operations.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
